With benefits ranging from detoxification to weight loss and beautifying your skin, health enthusiasts are flocking to local spas or installing saunas of their own. The concept of infrared light is hardly new. In 1800, William Herschel discovered infrared light after studying the temperatures of different colors of light.[1] Since the 1960’s, astronomers have studied infrared astronomy and in 1983, NASA (yes, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration!), began researching uses of infrared technology for the special needs of space travel.[2] The first primitive sauna (dry heat), was built in Finland around 2000 years ago as part of a healing regime for mind and body.[3] Moving into modern times, it’s the far infrared sauna that has captured the attention of those of us who believe in natural health. Far infrared light is the safe band of light that creates heat from the sun. Undetectable to your eyes, far infrared light penetrates into your tissues, providing heat and encouraging the transfer of water across cellular membranes.[4] This promotes hydration and enhances blood flow, benefiting many biological functions. While far infrared saunas are an excellent way to detoxify your body and boost immunity. More from my siteOne Response to “What Are The Benefits of Infrared Saunas?”Leave a Reply |
